Vietnam issued Decision No. 1057/QD-SHTT on the Public Disclosure of Trademark Registration Information on the Industrial Property Digital Library
On October 26, 2023, the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam issued Decision No. 1057/QD-SHTT regarding the public disclosure of trademark registration information on the Industrial Property Digital Library (WIPO Publish).
According to the decision, trademark registration applications that have not been accepted as valid will be publicly disclosed immediately upon receipt on the “Industrial Property Digital Library (WIPO Publish).” The list of directory information to be disclosed is outlined in the attached Appendix to Decision No. 1057/QD-SHTT and includes:
- Application number
- Filing date
- Priority application number
- Priority application date, country of origin (if applicable)
- List of goods or services bearing the trademark
- International classification of goods or services
- Trademark image; Color of the trademark (if applicable)
- Name, address of the applicant
- Name, address of the industrial property representative (if applicable)
Under Decision No. 1057/QD-SHTT, the responsible units for scanning and updating trademark data into the system immediately upon receipt are:
- Registration Department – National Office of Intellectual Property
- Representative Office of the National Office of Intellectual Property in Ho Chi Minh City
- Representative Office of the National Office of Intellectual Property in Da Nang City
In addition, the Information Technology Center will update the necessary data on the Industrial Property Digital Library (WIPO Publish), and the Industrial Property Information Center will monitor and propose solutions to ensure access to industrial property information.
This decision takes effect from January 1, 2024.
