Overview of renewal trademark in North Korea
A trademark is protected in North Korea for 10 years from the filing dates and may be renewed every 10 years. You can renew your trade mark registration 06 months before the renewal date. Late payment is possible within a six-month grace period by paying a corresponding surcharge for each lapsed month or part thereof.
Required documents
- Original Power of Attorney signed by the client (No legalization and notarization required). A copy of the signed Power of Attorney can be sent to us first via email first and then the original one can be delivered later.
- A copy of the registration certificate.
- Copy of form TM-A (form used for the original application for registering the trademark) ID and address proof of the applicant.
In case of late renewal, there is no additional renewal fee required for renewal during the grace period. however, it should be noted that renewal period is 6 months before the expiration date (which is 10 years calculated from the filing date). And the late renewal deadline is not applicable. There is no more terms and condition.
