From November 3 to November 7, 2023, the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) event held in Singapore garnered the attention of leading international patent attorneys and intellectual property professionals. Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA)
The Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) is a non-governmental organization established to promote and enhance intellectual property protection in the Asia-Pacific region, including Australia and New Zealand.
Founded in December 1969, individuals practicing intellectual property law in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as organizations composed of such individuals, can become members of APAA. Currently, APAA has over 2,500 members from 21 countries, including Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as members from Bhutan, Brunei, Laos, and Mongolia.
Members include leading intellectual property lawyers in Asia who convene annually at the Mid-Year Council Meeting and the Annual Council Meeting held at various locations in the Asia-Pacific region. These gatherings serve to strengthen ties, promote information exchange, and discuss perspectives and news related to intellectual property protection in the Asia-Pacific region, among other goals.
With a large and specialized membership, APAA is well-positioned to play an influential role in promoting and enhancing intellectual property protection in the Asia-Pacific region.
