The first invention was in Egypt in 1000 B.C.?
The origin of an invention is from the time the patent law is in effect in the country of inventor’s home country, or where the inventor intends to register the invention. Accordingly, the origin of the invention will be diverse. It could have been from 1790 in the United States or 1421 in Italy, or between the 16th and 17th centuries in England, etc. However, has anyone ever thought of the first invention, or the idea of exclusiveness similar to patent rights were present on Earth 3000 years ago in Egypt?
Egypt is the cradle of human civilization, with a history stretching back about 5000 years.
The region of Northeast Africa has experienced countless power struggles and customs, resulting in the destruction of an incalculable number of lives.
But also since then, a series of creations, and historical cultures were created, creating the framework for the development of modern social civilization today across 5 continents of the world.
Historical ‘robot’ invention
About 4000 years ago, the ancient Egyptians created a female statue that was able to mimic human actions using a mechanical control system.
This statue has been discovered for a long time, but until recently, scientists after taking X-rays realized that this statue was a basic robot with a mechanical control system.
This system works by means of a pulley-like shaft. When rotated, the system creates repetitive movements for the statue such as raising and lowering arms. The shaft is located at the shoulder of the female statue, rotates with a thread system running through the left leg, and is completely hidden inside the statue’s body.
This hidden detail is what makes the outside of the statue just a ‘statue’. Due to the preciousness of archaeological discoveries, few dare to touch the body of the relics to check. It was not until X-rays were taken that archaeologists discovered the secret inside.
Through this wooden statue, researchers at the Metropolitan Museum, Egypt Independent have reported that the first robots called “automatons” of the ancient Egyptians operated based on the use of self-propelled machines.
Scientists at the museum named the cutting-edge human-like statue “Hathor”. It is speculated that this statue was created more than 3,000 years ago to simulate Hathor, the goddess of motherhood, music, and singing in ancient Egyptian culture.
The movement mechanism can even make an impression in this modern society. 3000, 4000 years ago, it will surely be considered a great breakthrough by the craftsman who created it.
Thereby, this creator will hold an important position in Egyptian society and thereby, most likely will gain the protection of the king/queen to exclusively create the statue for the dynasty in infinite time – something that is quite similar to the current patent law except for brutal elements such as if the manufacture is wrong or upsets the king/queen, they will be executed.
